What Do I Do If I Have More than 4 Switches in a Single Electric Box?Updated a year ago
The iotty Wi-Fi Smart Switch is available in 1, 2, 3, and 4 gang configurations. You can split large boxes into smaller boxes to support locations with more than four switches in a single location but it takes work that will likely require the services of a professional electrician.
5 and 6 gang configurations are achieved by installing two separate electrical boxes next to each other. For example, if you need to control 6 switches, you can have an electrician install two electrical boxes and put two 3 gang units next to each other. It is easiest to do this with new construction while the walls are still open. Doing this on an existing wall is a large project and requires opening the wall, installing separate boxes and then re-installing sheet rock, spackling, and painting.
IMPORTANT: In either case, it is important to remember to place the electric boxes far enough from one another so the spacing between the switch covers meets your desired aesthetic.
